Fall 2021 Planning Studio Presentations

Senior students in the BS Community and Regional Planning program require to complete two capstone classes: Planning Studio in Fall and Planning Practicum in Spring. In Fall 2021, students in PLAN4096: Planning Studio collaboratively worked in teams on five community projects.

New Bern, NC: Stanley White Center Relocation and Placemaking

The Stanley White Center Relocation Team has developed a series of recommendations to link the new location of the  Stanley White Center to the former site with added amenities to include connections to the existing New Bern area memory marker program.

New Bern, NC: Living Shoreline Analysis

The New Bern Living Shoreline Project Team has developed strategies to reclaim and activate an area of New Bern riverfront shorelines to create a living shoreline with place-based amenities.

Falkland, NC: Land Use Plan Data and Conditions Update

The Falkland Land Use Plan Project Team identifies data and other influences that will help shape the development of a future land use plan update for the Town of Falkland for compliance with the newly adopted Planning Statute, NC General Statute 160D.

Maysville, NC: A Town of Possibilities

The Maysville Project Team identifies strategies that may be used to renovate existing buildings in the downtown of Maysville and other improvements that could be implemented to aid with revitalization efforts.

Parker’s Creek Greenway Plan – Fall 2021 Planning Studio

The Parker’s Creek Greenway Project Team identifies connections from the proposed ECU Research and Innovation Campus Greenhouse site to other nearby community assets and existing greenways.
