  • Full name: Ethan Flower (Class of 2023)
  • Major/Minor: BS Community and Regional Planning, Minor Political Science, Certificate G.I.S.
  • Hometown: Eureka, California
  • Interest in Planning & future goals: My main focus is on environmental planning, specifically in the areas of resource management and conservation.  Learning how to responsibly manage the environment and all of its resources is one of the most important emerging issues in the modern day.  G.I.S. and coastal mapping have also really impacted my planning, as has the collection and use of satellite imagery.
  • Favorite thing about the department: Having such a small department really brings you close with your instructors, and I think that, in turn, enables a level of support that the Planning faculty are then able to provide.  They are always accessible and very willing to help, and I would not have made it this far without that kind of support.
  • Ethan served as the social media coordinator of the Student Planners’ Action Network for two years.
  • Ethan’s Practicum Project: Planning for the Past: Planning for Tourism in Greenville’s Dickinson Avenue (Spring 2023)
