It is official! Christopher Normile, Class of 2022, is a recipient of the American Planning Association (APA) Outstanding Student Award. The APA Outstanding Student Awards “recognize outstanding attainment in the study of planning by students graduating from Planning Accreditation Board–accredited planning programs during the academic year of the award.” (APA).

During his senior year, Christopher served as the President of the Student Planner’s Action Network (SPAN)–a student organization registered with the ECU Student Government Association (SGA) since 1970 and with the American Planning Association (APA). He completed two internships–with the City of Raleigh and RISE29. His academic excellence is proven in various client-based projects, which include Hyde County Economic Development Strategic Plan 2021-26 (Hyde County), Parker’s Creek Greenway Plan (Pitt County), and cover page reportPreserving Out Legacy: Strategies for Revitalizing Downtown Tarboro, NC (Tarboro).
