Accreditation
Exciting news!!!
The Community and Regional Planning program received a 5-year reaccreditation until December 31, 2026, by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB).
“Accreditation is a system for recognizing educational institutions and professional programs for performance, integrity and quality…. …..The Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) accredits university programs in North America leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in planning. PAB standards are developed with input from the stakeholders in the planning community and our sponsoring organizations: the American Planning Association (APA); APA’s American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP); and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP).” (https://www.planningaccreditationboard.org/)
ECU’s BS in Community and Regional Planning program was first accredited in 2003. The program is the only accredited undergraduate Planning degree in the state of North Carolina and one of only 15 in the country.
